Kraftur + Carbfix
Combine the formal business presentation of Kraftur with the in-depth experience of Carbfix

About the Tour
This comprehensive experience combines the in-depth business presentation of Kraftur with our Carbfix tour, offering unique insights into Iceland's geothermal energy sector, carbon storage innovations, and the operations of ON Power, Carbfix, The Geothermal Park, and Reykjavík Energy.
This is designed for professional and academic audiences seeking a detailed understanding of Iceland’s geothermal operations and innovation.
This 1.5-2 hour visit includes discussions on the following:
Power production and distribution at the Hellisheiði Power Plant
The business operations of ON Power and Reykjavík Energy
A guided visit to a Carbfix injection well and the surrounding injection area
A detailed explanation of the Carbfix carbon mineralization process — from capture to permanent storage in basalt rock
Carbfix’s pioneering carbon storage methods
An overview of ON Power's Geothermal Park
Ongoing research and development projects
The visit includes open dialogue with our Science Communicators. The first part of the visit takes place in a private meeting room, and the second part includes a site visit out to the Carbfix injection area (weather and working conditions allowing).
Catering options — such as Icelandic coffee and kleinur (a traditional Icelandic pastry) — can be arranged for an additional fee.
