About the Tour
Our Carbfix Student Tours offer a rare chance for students to learn directly about Iceland’s geothermal production and carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology.
This 1–1.5 hour experience includes:
An introduction to Iceland’s geological and geothermal systems
Insights into energy production at the Hellisheiði Power Plant
An in-depth discussion of the Carbfix carbon storage method
A visit to the injection area and panoramic views over the Geothermal Park
Visits can be customized to match specific educational goals, and teachers are encouraged to share course topics in advance.
After the tour, students are invited to explore the exhibition independently.
